Got the new starter and boy, what a difference! The thing weighs almost twice what the busted one does. All metal housing. Here is what it looks like:Also finished cleaning up the apparently hastily done repair on the wires in and out of the control box. This is what it DID look like. Re-routed several of the wires and now I can close the front-panel on the control box.I used heat-shrink, crimp, butt-connectors (didn’t know they made those) to get “weather resistant” connections. Looks SO MUCH BETTER. Guess I should take a picture of the new look.
She still doesn’t start but she does spin with “authority”. Got some engine starter, am going to give that a squirt and see if I can’t get it to kick over. If not, next step I guess is check fuel flow?
