How is it possible that by slowing down the 2 exhaust case fans in my ESXi rig(Little-blue) that the CPU actually runs cooler? Temps dropped from 85-87F to 84 as measured by a digital cooking thermometer. I used that because I’m current waiting on some digital thermometers to show up so I can install two in the rig (one for ambient and one for CPU temp) to see how things are going. BTW, these are the exact same thermometers that you can buy elsewhere for $10 plus shipping. Only drawback, so far, is that it takes about 7 days for these to get here. (Well, actually more like 10, but who’s counting.) Once I had them installed, they seem to work nicely. I put one temperature probe in the fins of the CPU heat-sink and one probe just kinda dangling in the middle of the case to get somewhat of a general temp. And I think they look cool.
